Homeless or staying in a shelter
Are you, or have you been, homeless? Sometimes you can get extra time for the time you were homeless. The maximum is 2 years.
Are you staying in a shelter for victims of domestic abuse ? Or did you stay in such a shelter? Then you may also get extra time for the time you stayed there.
Conditions
- You were homeless for more than 3 consecutive months. Or you stayed in a shelter for more than 3 consecutive months.
- This happened during your integration period.
- Your integration period started at least 2.5 years ago.
Apply
- Complete the ‘Verlenging inburgeringstermijn door dakloosheid of verblijf in blijf-van-mijn-lijfhuis’ form.
- Include proof that you were homeless or stayed in a shelter.
- Send the form and the proof to DUO by post.
- DUO decides if you get extra time. You will receive a notice within 8 weeks.
