Overview
You have 3 years to integrate. But sometimes you can get extra time.
In these situations you can sometimes get extra time to integrate:
- You had to learn to read and write first. So you took a literacy course.
- You have entered a Dutch education programme.
- You are ill. Or a family member is ill.
- A family member has died.
- You had a baby.
- You are, or were, homeless.
- You are, or were, staying at a shelter.
- You had to wait because the municipality did not arrange a school in time Link opent externe pagina .
- You temporarily could not go to school, because the school had a problem Link opent externe pagina .
- You have followed many lessons and passed at least 2 of the 4 language exams.
- There is an other reason you cannot integrate in time.
In these situations you can sometimes get extra time to integrate:
- You had to learn to read and write first. So you took a literacy course.
- You have entered a Dutch education programme.
- You are ill. Or a family member is ill.
- A family member has died.
- You had a baby.
- You are, or were, homeless.
- You are, or were, staying at a shelter.
- You followed 300 hours of a course and took all exams twice.
- There is an other reason you cannot integrate in time.
Extra time to integrate only once per period
You can only get extra time to integrate once per period. If you have another reason you cannot integrate during the same period, you won’t get more extra time. However, you may get extra time once more, if it concerns another period of time.
